Baton Rouge is now preparing for a rapid influx of both workers and an onslaught of people into the downtown area. Recently, a major attraction came to Baton Rouge and incoming visitors discovered that parking was not as horrendous as most people would have thought. Traffic and the maneuvering of the traffic, on the other hand, is a serious issue that needs to be addressed (and soon). Downtown is not going to be a place for visitors only, though. It is definitely appealing to the current Baton Rougian. Events like 'Live at Five' and other weekend happenings will begin to draw a crowd to this area. New condo and apartment complexes will begin to bring people into downtown! There is also a new River levee bike path with a 15-feet wide trail with plenty of water fountains, sitting areas and bike racks. Baton Rouge is growing and this growth currently is centered in a real downtown, something that Baton Rouge has been missing for quite a while. |

Safe bets include khaki and linen slacks, pencil skirts, polo shirts and relaxed button down shirts. Be careful, though, not every company has the same dress code. The Target Corporation has instituted a 20-page dress code for its corporate employees. It is important for HR Managers to specifically express to employees what is considered appropriate and what is unacceptable. If an employee is dressed inappropriately, the issue must be addressed immediately. Letting one employee slip will only encourage others to do the same.
