Desktop Support - Baton Rouge, LA

Desktop Support needed for a Baton Rouge company! This position will work with IT Desktop Support team, Project Manager, Server Team, Application Development Managers and DBA Staff to assist with the identification of issue and compatibility testing of existing software and utilities with the Windows 7 Operating system. Will also be responsible for recommending strategies and assisting with the development of a rollout plan that utilizes resources optimally and has the least impact on users. Must have a strong knowledge of Information Technology including desktop support, networking and operating system. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply TODAY!

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required. 4 years of experience can be used in lieu of a degree.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Desktop Support experience is required. Must meet the following qualifications:
• Trained in formal Project Management disciplines and experienced in managing complex IT projects.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral, and presentation skills are required as is the ability to communicate calmly and patiently with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Sound working knowledge of network concepts including, TCP/IP, DNS, and LAN/WAN concepts.
• Solid understanding and competency with Microsoft tools, ie. WSUS, AD, group policies, etc.
• Advanced experience with Windows based operating systems including installation, system administration and troubleshooting is required.
• Experience with migrating and major upgrades to Windows based operating systems, including installation, system administration and troubleshooting.
•Ability to engage in deep system level problem determination and resolution.
•Must be able to work well within a technical team, as well as interface well with the outside business units, Service Desk team, Desktop support team, IT developers and analysts, and individual customers from the business user community.
•Requires a high level of knowledge in the field of computer science, including hardware and software products, computer systems, problem troubleshooting, information reporting, and data management for large complex systems.
•Excellent ability to diagnose Personal Computer system and printer issues using knowledge base or existing technical knowledge / skills.
•Application Virtualization and VDI experience preferred.
•At least one Current Microsoft certifications such as MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or equivalent skills is required.
•Experience with MS Office products is required.

Type Of Position: Contract

Salary: $30.00 per hour
